Welcome to The Kirkstyle Inn

The 18th century Kirkstyle Inn is idylically situated in the South Tyne valley between Alston and Brampton, Cumbria. The surrounding area has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. 

With views "to die for" and a menu to salivate over it has rapidly become THE destination dining venue for Tynedale.

All food is cooked to order by our highly qualified, professional, chef using the freshest and, wherever possible, most local of ingredients (lamb for example comes from the field opposite!)

Whether its a snack at lunchtime, our handmade Northumberland sausages or full dinner there's something for everyone; including vegetarians - and most dishes can made gluten-free!

To accompany your meal there is a fine choice of wines, ales, spirits and of course soft drinks. We pride ourselves on keeping excellent, local, real ales and in winter we have Yates' of Wigton, Cumbria, Best Bitter (3.7% abv) and Best Cellar (5.6%abv) in summer the Best Cellar winter ale is replaced by our own Kirkstyle Ale (3.9%abv) which is brewed for us by Geltsdale Brewery in Brampton, Cumbria.

The Kirkstyle Inn is genuinely dog-friendly, as recognised by the Dogs trust. We would much prefer well behaved dogs to badly behaved children and all we ask is that you keep your dog under control and on a lead at all times. For customers who are less relaxed about dogs we have dog-free areas!

RAILWAY DEVELPOMENTS = A GRAND DAY OUT!

The South Tynedale Railway - the area's largest tourist attraction - has been extended to Lintley terminus. This means that passengers alighting there are just two miles easy walking from The Kirkstyle, which in turn means that a ride on the railway and lunch at The Kirkstyle make "A Grand Day Out"! On train operating days - see www.strps.org.uk - we adjust our opening and food service hours to accommodate passengers and there is normally transport to get them back for their return train if needed.
