What can we say about our menu? Well the main menu (which changes two or three times a year) might be described as classic British Gastropub; choices like feather steak & chips, steak & ale pie, cod, chips & mushy peas, Gammon and eggs or pineapple, Lasagne, etc, etc, all of which is cooked to order and absolutuely delicious.
We are also very proud to be the original home of the Northumbrian Sausage. Tony Willis of Haydon Bridge hand makes these sausage for us in eight, delicious, varieties. You choose which flavour you want and whether its with egg and chips, or mash, gravy and vegetables - then leave the rest to us! Tony's sausages are exquisitly accompanied by a range of handmade, flavoured, honey mustards produced by "Mustard Jeff" at nearby Alston.
However, its the daily changing "specials" board where Julie really comes into her own! We can't tell you what might be on it, because it changes so frequently, but it will be brilliant!
As well as all that choice there is always at least two vegetarian dishes to opt for and special dietry needs are taken care of - for example most dishes can be prepared gluten-free! We have gluten intolerent customers who say the've never had so much choice when eating out.
The lady in this kitchen really knows what she's doing!
